The Beast of the Blacks on 6 March 2027 is a trail running challenge that includes a 40, 20 and 10 mile distance within the majestic Black Mountains of Wales.

The 2027 event starts and finishes in Crickhowell, where runners will follow the trails onto the Black Mountains. Greeted with outstanding views that will follow you around this beautiful route whilst taking in forest trails, mountain tops, river crossings and ancient churches. The 40 mile event will be a reverse of the 20 mile loop so whatever scenery you miss on the first lap, you can capture on the second lap.

There are generous cut off times to encourage new trail runners to join the event.

This is a cup free event - you will need to bring a reusable cup.
