The AJ Bell Great Birmingham Run on 2 May 2027 includes a Half Marathon and 10km course and is Birmingham’s biggest running event.

The 10km and Half Marathon routes start in Centenary Square and sweep past standout city landmarks including the Jewellery Quarter, St Paul’s Square, the Mailbox, Grand Central at New Street Station, St Martin’s Church, Southside and Digbeth. Half Marathon runners head into south Birmingham, with the green spaces of Cannon Hill Park and Selly Park and around the famous Edgbaston Stadium, before re-joining the 10km route for a standout finish; past the iconic curves of the Selfridges Building, onto the home straight along Jennens Road, and into Aston University’s vibrant event village.

The courses are both undulating with inclines and declines along the way.
