Off The Tarmac Ultra Marathon
Saturday, 7 November 2026
Georgetown, Merthyr Tydfil, Wales, UK
The Off The Tarmac Ultra Marathon on 7 November 2026 is a 30 mile ultra on beautiful, but technical trails through the Brecon Beacons.
The runnable route starts at Georgetown, Merthyr Tydfil and follows the trails out North towards the Beacons reservoir. At the far end of the reservoir the route crosses the A470 and climbs Pen y Fan (The highest peak in South Wales at 886 meters).
Once at the top, a descent of Jacobs ladder leads runners to the Roman Road to Torpantau, then on to forest tracks. The route then returns to the trails of the Taff Fechan Nature Reserve and to the finish line back in Georgetown.
This is a great route for those looking to take the step up to an Ultra event whilst also catering for the experienced ultra runners.
This is a cup-free event - bring your own cup/water bottle for refilling at aid stations during the race. Refer to the event website for compulsory kit details.
