Race The Tram on 26 April 2026 is a unique event in Edinburgh’s running scene.

Runners board the tram at Edinburgh Park Central and get off at their chosen starting point, they then race it back using local knowledge and strategy to plot their own fastest, flattest or most fun running route.

The start options are St Andrew Square - approx. 5.5 miles (70 minutes to beat the tram); Foot of the Walk - approx. 7 miles (60 minutes to beat the tram) or Newhaven Terminus – approx. 7.5 miles (50 minutes to beat the tram).
