The Roman River Trails event includes a trail Marathon and Half Marathon that take in the Roman River valley, near Colchester.

Course terrain is predominantly hard-packed trail with parts of tarmac and grass footpath sections along the way and the Roman River is crossed numerous times during the Marathon course. Due to the up and down nature of the valley, there are some hills. The Half Marathon loop is half of the Marathon course, and takes in the villages to the West of Colchester and the surrounding areas.

This is a self-navigation event with fully stocked aid stations and checkpoints on the route and a GPX file provided.

This is a cup-free event - bring your own cup/water bottle for refilling at aid stations during the race.
