The Iron Keep Medieval Trail Running Festival on 5 September 2026 is set in and around Duncarron Medieval Village in the Carron Valley.

The event includes various races including a Half Marathon, Tiny Titans Kids. Run and a multi-lap endurance race - The Iron Keep 5 Hour Siege.

The course takes in everything from forest road, single track and trail running alongside the reservoir with 80m elevation per lap.

This 5 Hour Siege challenges runners to complete as many 5km laps as possible within a 5 hour time limit. ​It can be raced solo or as part of a pair or quad team (relay-style).

Starting in full daylight and finishing after dark, the event evolves as the hours pass with the village coming alive under torchlight with traditional music echoing through the square.
