The Railway Children Ultra on 15 June 2024 includes 50 and 30 mile ultra marathons on the beautiful Essex Riviera.

The routes generally follow the Thames going east, utilising the London Loop and England Coast National Trails. The going underfoot is mainly tarmac with some hard trails in sections. 50 mile runners and walkers start from Upminster, and the 30 mile route starts at Tilbury. Both routes finish at Southend.

The scenery is a mixture of urban, marsh land and river bank, with some amazing views of this part of the Thames and Greater London.

Both distances can be entered as a Team Relay in teams of 2+. Refer to the event website for specific details.

This event is organised by c2c on behalf of the Railway Children Charity. All monies raised from entry fees and donations will go directly to the charity.

The 50 mile starts at Upminster Station; the 30 mile from Lansdowne Primary School, Tilbury. Both routes finish at Southend Central Station.
