The Vale Coastal Trail Races on 5 April 2025 include a 32.5 mile ultra marathon and 18.5 and 10 mile trail races along the Vale of Glamorgan Coastline.
The Ultra is a linear trail race along the entire coast of the Vale of Glamorgan starting from Penarth Pier. It hugs the clifftop passing numerous hidden and rugged bays all the way to the splendid beachside resort of Ogmore-by-sea. The route itself passes 19 beaches, with the final 14 miles travelling along the Glamorgan Heritage Coast with its dramatic cliffs, amazing rock formations, romantic coves and rolling countryside.
The 18.5 mile race joins the Ultra route on the seashore at Porthkerry and runs along the Wales Coast Path and Glamorgan Heritage Coast. The 10 mile joins the route at Llantwit beach.
This is a self-navigation event. Entrants are provided with a marked map and detailed route explanations. There will be a number of manned checkpoints with refreshments provided.
