The Ridgeway Challenge & Ridgeway Chase

The Ridgeway Challenge on 30 May 2026 is an 86-mile (139km), point-to-point trail running race along the entire length of The Ridgeway National Trail.

The course runs from Ivinghoe Beacon, Hertfordshire in the east, to the Avebury Stones, Wiltshire in the west, following a path that has endured for over 5,000 years.

For the majority of the race this signage is more than sufficient to direct you the correct way. On some sections where navigation is less clear, the route will be marked by additional race signs.

Held alongside the full Ridgeway Challenge is the Ridgeway Chase, a 60km shorter, more accessible way to experience this iconic route. Also starting at Ivinghoe Beacon, 60km runners will journey along ancient trails and scenic ridgelines, across the Chilterns and North Wessex Downs. The route finishes at Ridgeway View Campsite, near Wallingford.
