The Compton Marathon & 16 Mile Challenge in Newbury on 22 May 2027 are mixed terrain races around the picturesque Berkshire Downs.

Both courses follow clearly marked loops that criss-cross the ancient Ridgeway. The routes take runners along a variety of quiet tracks, trails and bridleways (which can get muddy when wet), plus some short, quiet road sections.

The start line is the Compton village recreation ground, next to the Village Hall (Race HQ) and both distances follow the same route for the first 9-ish miles, where they diverge.

The event is hosted by the Compton Harriers Running Club.
