Holy Trail Festival of Running
Saturday, 9 May 2026
Oulton Broad, Lowestoft, Suffolk, UK
The Holy Trail Festival of Running in Suffolk on 9 May 2026 includes a 50 mile and 50km Ultra and a Marathon distance.
The 50km and Marathon both start in Holton, near Halesworth and take runners across the marshes to Blythburgh, joining the Sandlings Walk to Walberswick. From here the 50km route branches off towards Dunwich before returning to the same route as the Marathon at Southwold. Both routes cross the river Blyth to Southwold and join the Suffolk Coast Path all the way to Lowestoft. At Pakefield, the 50km route branches off again and continues along the beach to join the Via Beata to the North of East Point Marina whilst the Marathon takes a more direct route to the finish line in Oulton Broad.
The 50 mile route starts in Oulton Broad and joins The Angles Way to Beccles along Carlton Marshes, also part of the Via Beata. It then heads south on the East Suffolk Lines Walk to Holton where it joins the same route as the Marathon for the rest of the route.
