Hourglass
Saturday, 26 June 2027
Whitecross, Wadebridge, UK
The Hourglass on 26 June 2027 is a last person standing, 'winner takes all' event based in Cornwall.
Entrants run laps of a 2 mile, flat-ish course in and around the Royal Cornwall Events Centre, on a mixture of tarmac and grass.
Runners start with 30 minutes on the clock and in this time they must complete lap 1. Each consecutive lap will reduce by 1 minute, so there is 29 minutes to complete lap 2 and so on.
Those who don't manage to finish a lap within the allocated time will be eliminated from the race. If you can get down to 18 minutes for a lap (a 9 minute mile pace) - you will have completed 13 laps and a Marathon distance. Dare to go longer and you'll be in Ultra territory.
There are prizes for the last remaining male and female runners plus 2nd and 3rd place.
