The Isle of Wight Marathon on 3 October 2027 is one of the oldest Marathons in the UK, and has been run continuously since 1957.

Based from Cowes, the 26.2 mile course is a single, scenic lap of the quieter western parts of the Island. It heads out from Cowes through Gurnard, Porchfield and Shalfleet to Yarmouth, then comes back via Thorley, Chessell, Ningwood and Northwood.

It is a undulating course all the way round and many runners find the second half tougher than they expected.

The event is organised by the Ryde Harriers Running Club.
