Kintyre Way Ultra

Tayinloan to Campbeltown, Scotland, UK
The Kintyre Way Ultra on 9 May 2026 is on a 35 mile mixed terrain course taking runners from Tayinloan to Campbeltown.
The Kintyre Way is one of Scotland’s most scenic long-distance paths. The Kintyre Way Ultra course alternates each year, tackling a different third of the 100-mile long Kintyre Way.
The 2026 route is mainly on good forest tracks and footpaths, apart from a mile of beach at Tayinloan and half a mile of rocky shore south of Carradale. It will be fully waymarked, with pale blue posts and distance markers at 1 mile intervals. Additional signs or marshals are placed where needed.
There are two entry options, solo and team relay (teams of 2 or 3) with the first changeover at Carradale, and the second at the southern end of Lussa Loch.
Finishers receive a coaster depicting the route. After all three parts of the jigsaw are completed runners may purchase a frame.
