The Maverick Original Afan Forest Trail Run on 20 September 2025 explores the hidden trails of Afan Forest in South Wales.

There are 4 distances to choose from; 10km and 25km, 42km and a 50km Ultra marathon.

All the routes begin with a gradual climb up towards the wind turbines then pass through tree lined avenues. As the other routes split off, those on the longer routes adventure out through the trees, enjoying views of rolling Welsh hills with grazing sheep and heathland streams.

The courses have some punchy hills but are well-marked with 95% of the route being hard packed / gravel trails.
