Merthyr Mawr, Bridgend, South Wales, UK
The Rabbit Run Trail Race in South Wales on 17 July 2027 offers the unique opportunity to run on the private grounds of the Merthyr Mawr Estate.
The Merthyr Mawr Warren National Nature Reserve is a haven for wildlife and a trail running paradise. The original 12km, Half Marathon and Marathon courses take in stunning trails, hills, valleys, a river crossing, and the chance to experience a tumble down the Big Dipper, the highest sand dune in Wales.
Half Marathon runners take in most of the highlights of the 12km as well as stunning clifftop and coastal views around Ogmore, West Farm and Dunraven Bay, before heading towards St Brides Major, Heol Y Mynydd and back to Merthyr Mawr.
Marathon runners also head out on a tour of the Glamorgan Heritage Coast, which promises dramatic landscapes, plunging cliffs, secluded coves and breathtaking views. The Marathon course can be run solo or in a relay team of 5, splitting the 42.2km into legs of varying distance.
As well as the main races, there is a selection of family races (the Bunny, Double Bunny and Toddler Dash).
The event is delivered in partnership by the Merthyr Mawr Estate, Bridgend Athletics & Run 4 Wales (R4W).
