Race to the King Trail Run

The Race to the King Trail Run on 20 June 2026 is an epic ultramarathon along the South Downs Way and Monarch’s Way.
Choose from two unique 50km Ultra loop courses or combine the 2 loops into a non-stop 100km challenge. Other distances include a 30km trail run and a 80km Ultra.
The Coastal 50K is a scenic flat and runnable ultra offering spectacular views around Chichester Harbour, passing through the ancient fishing village of Bosham before gently climbing back onto the South Downs.
The Castle 50K follows an undulating course along the South Downs Way, passing by Arundel Castle before returning to West Dean via the Monarch’s Way, with spectacular views of the Weald to the North and the coastline to the South.
The 30K is a challenging but very achievable journey along the South Downs Way towards Bignor Hill, returning to West Dean Gardens via the stunning Monarch’s Way.
The 80K is designed to provide a ‘stepping stone’ distance between the 50K and 100K routes it combines the Coastal 50K route and the 30K Monarch’s Loop, finishing back at West Dean Gardens.
