The Rat Race 100 Edinburgh to Glamis from 25 to 27 July 2026 is a beginner-friendly 100 mile ultramarathon adventure.

The event has no qualifying times required and no barrier to entry apart from your willingness to commit yourself to conquering this bucket list distance.

Starting from next to Edinburgh Castle and finishing at Glamis Castle, the waymarked route is designed to be completed at a 2.5mph moving pace so both walkers and runners can take part. This factors in 8 hours of stopping/strategy sleeping along the way in the 48 hour time limit. It is also fully supported with Pit Stops on the route and designated places after that you can sleep.

The course takes a beautiful coastal route, visiting picture perfect towns and the famous St Andrews before coming inland and lining up on the edge of the Cairngorms at the magnificent Glamis Castle.
