The Great Glen Ultra on 4 July 2026 is one of Scotland’s toughest running challenges, set amongst some of Scotland’s most stunning scenery.
The long course race takes runners on a 72 mile journey from Fort William to Inverness along the historic Great Glen, on a mixture of canal towpaths, forestry paths and tracks, and a little time spent on roads. There are marshaled checkpoints approximately every 10 miles along the fully marked route. There is a cut off time of 22 hours.
The short course follows a 42 mile route between Fort Augustus and Inverness on the Great Glen Way. There is a cut off time of 15 hours.
The event is for solo runners and designed to be run unsupported with drop bags located at checkpoints along the route.
