Saturday, 12 June 2027 to Tuesday, 15 June 2027
Pennine Way, UK
The Montane Summer Spine from 12 to 15 June 2027 is a non-stop expedition-style ultramarathon race along the iconic Pennine Way.
The summer event includes 6 options with distances ranging from 43 miles to the ultimate event - the Spine 268 miles.
The Spine 268 mile is widely regarded as Britain’s Most Brutal endurance race, taking entrants along the entire length of the Pennine Way, from Edale in Derbyshire to the village of Kirk Yetholm in the Scottish Borders. You will climb over 10,000 meters as the route crosses some of the most beautiful but difficult terrain found in England. The cut off is 156 hours.
Other options include the Sprint North 43 miles (Brown Rigg to Kirk Yetholm), Sprint South 46 miles (Edale to Hebden), Challenger North 160 miles (Hardraw to Kirk Yetholm) and the Challenger South 108 miles (Edale to Hawes). There are also 2 Mountain Rescue Team races where active members of the Mountain Rescue compete against each other on either the Challenger North or Challenger South courses.
