The Water of Leith Half Marathon on 26 September 2026 takes runners through Edinburgh's changing landscapes, from the outskirts of the city to its historic waterfront.

The point-to-point 13.1 mile course follows the winding path of the Water of Leith, from Balerno to Leith. It is mostly off-road, well-marked, and marshalled at key road crossings.

Race format is a handicapped race with runners starting in waves based on expected finish times.

This event is kept deliberately small to minimise impact on the pathways and preserve the natural beauty of the route. It supports the Water of Leith Conservation Trust.

The start is just outside Balerno, on a farm track off Harlow Road, and the finish is in Coalhill, Leith.
