Race The Sun South Downs on 15 May 2027 is a triathlon-style team multisport challenge with a bike, hike and paddle.
Teams of two or four race against the setting sun. All team members compete in each discipline. As a team event you’re only as fast as your slowest team member, you need to stick together for the whole race.
Based from Seaford, near Brighton, the first leg is a 24-mile off-road bike starting with a decent climb out of the seaside town, before hitting the open countryside. The 10 mile trek/hike is a coastal loop that heads up Seaford Head to the white cliffs that define this dramatic stretch of the South Coast. The final water leg is a 2-mile paddle along the serene River Cuckmere.
This event is a fundraiser for Action Medical Research to support life-changing research across the UK to help save and change the lives of sick and vulnerable children.
